MARIOTT HOTEL, PASAY CITY, PHILIPPINES, November 9, 2015 – BOF, Inc. through its Chairman and President, Ms. Teresa David-Carlos and Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP)IV and Director, Ms. Susan David-Nunga, attends the 58th Charter Anniversary Symposium of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) at the Grand Ballroom C& D of Mariott Hotel, Pasay City on November 9 and 10 of 2015.
According to the Organizers, this year’s theme “RURAL BANKS: FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY IN THE COUNTRYSIDE,” seeks to highlight the Association’s vision to achieve a stable, sound and market-based financial system that supports the efficient mobilization and allocation of resources particularly in the countryside. The theme likewise recognizes the need to realize sustainable growth and ultimately reduce or eliminate poverty altogether.

The Association has invited the following keynote speakers: Hon. Juan Edgardo M. Angara, Senator, Republic of The Philippines; Hon. Leni G. Robredo, Representative, 3rd District Camarines Sur; Mr. Nestor A. Espenilla, Jr., Deputy Governor, Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas; Atty. Dennis B. Funa, Deputy Commissioner, Insurance Commission. Likewise, Ms. Nataliya Mylenko, Country Sector Coordinator, the World Bank; Dr. Johnny Noe E. Ravalo, Assistant Governor, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; Ms. Cristina Q. Orbeta, President Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation and other distinguished resource speakers from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp., PAGASA, and Department of Agriculture have been invited to share their knowledge to help improve the competency of rural banks as effective social and economic movers. Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman, PLDT & Smart Communications has also been asked to give a message. Among the topics to be discussed are Financial Literacy and Public Awareness; Consumer Protection; recent BSP circulars affecting rural banks; understanding the El Nino phenomenon; BSP Demonetization Initiative; Consolidation Program for Rural Banks (CPRB) and Effective Credit Access and Guaranty to the Countryside.
